India an outside perspective – The India I know.

India traditionally has been a country abundant in resources. It has been admired and appreciated for its diversity. Given the current state of this ever growing country, the traditional, cultural, monumental and historic importance it holds is put to a bad taste.

The ongoing debacle in the name of democracy where nepotism in the center and state has cast a dark wild shadow on the illiterate, economically weaker masses who sell their votes for just a day's meal.

Where has the rationalism, nationalism and the cry for union among the fellow Indians disappeared?
People have become selfish and corrupt for reasons beyond question. Corruption seems to be the order of the day, where truth and righteousness have lost value. People with ideals and honesty seem to be impotent in an obnoxious world.

There are scams in Telecommunication, Armed Forces, legislature, corporate offices, banking industry, IT, Education and even in the investigating bodies which are appointed to probe the scams Ex. CBI, and it is tough to mention a field and get away by saying it is scam free! Even the Judiciary has lost its charm with its incapable action and deferred or no justice.

India faces serious problems such as lack of power, water, infrastructure, education in various parts of the country. The government makes a big noise only when elections are round the corner by announcing charming schemes which floor the general public and making them forget their fundamental problems which need to be addressed at once.

All big agendas such as eradication of poverty, interlinking of rivers, free trade for farmers, reduction of taxes, controlling food and fuel prices, keeping a check on inflation, increase of the GDP, interconnecting cities with roadways by promising newer and wider roads gain massive momentum but fail to be enacted as it was only a rehearsal to fool the public just before elections.

The democracy and the Indian education system are the biggest jokes we play on ourselves in our country. It is because they somehow give us hope in a slightest possible form but we always fail to realize it is a disaster in disguise.

The working middle class has a new hobby – bashing the politicians but not standing up for their cause. The educated lot of people, working community of India are least bothered in the state of the affairs of the country as it has its newest friends in technology which is paralyzing growth in many domains. The entertainment industry, cinema, TV and print media adulterate, pollute and waste a common man's time and make him unproductive or lazy which over a period of time becomes a problem beyond repair.

The news which comes out on the Internet, TV, radio, newspapers have lost their sheen and have succumbed to corporate giants and powerfully wrong willed politicians who dictate terms what to publish and what not to.

On the other hand, the freedom of speech and expression is misunderstood and put to a wrong use by the handling agencies, where their priorities are compromised because of the chaotic disillusioned quality of this fundamental right by itself. People do not foresee their lack of understanding and create barriers which are in turn responsible for an unclean or residual execution of the fundamental right "Freedom of Speech and Expression"

India's spending towards R&D, Defense, Education only seems to be on paper and on the budget. Our technology is going up in flames as our rockets fail to impress. Globally it is a major set back and brings home a lot of criticism.

Our internal security and counter measures towards terrorism seems only to be a root canal treatment for a huge open cavity which has already been infiltrated with huge chunks of junk into the living embodiment of India.
Our media, our people are highly impulsive and reactive. But our memories seem to suck. We keep forgetting just as Japan and Germany act, as if the US of A were their cousins in the WW II and had sung Christmas carols at the family reunion.

Our stand on politicians, corruption, educational policies, reservation, military spending, technology, has to be focused and make democracy a functioning body with pillars of strength from unity, self-belief, forward thinking and righteousness and most importantly empathy towards fellow beings, conformity to truth and justice in an honorable sense. So it is in our hands, We the people should act before it is too late and make a path which doesn't demean democracy but on the contrary makes it work.

The Mohandas Effect – “A Lie”

There have been many on and off moments between me and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. We keep fighting even though we have never met. I learn from him, I try to reason out a few things to him, I feel what he did was a little “नौटंकी”, but still was pragmatic in certain cases, so now given choice I would still hold on to one nice memory.

It is one of the most genuine moments in my life which keeps me true company. I do keep rewinding to the moment as it showed my true innocence. But I wouldn't state it here. There is a direction which it led me to. And now I'm following it!

It takes a lot of daring to tell the truth. So here is my perspective of truth – A Lie !

The lie which holds the truth together.

In a world where truth is least rewarding, people deflect to a path of lies.

A lie which keeps people happy.
A lie which keeps a relationship on its track.
A lie which bridges the gap of ever drifting emotions.
A lie which might fall yet stall uncertainty.
A lie which lets your life camp in a safe, warm place.
A lie which would put the receiver to eternal comfort .

But how good a lie can be, can it exceed your moral obligation of conveying your distress and disguise your current state of agony and pain into a non existent, unrealistic, imaginary cloud of happiness. A delusion which you created just to please and reassure your love. It is a measure you take, to be in a state of being unaffected.

Certainly, it would require a great lie and consequent smaller lies to support your mother lie and sustain its credibility. But if your love isn't capable of finding the truth it will haunt you deeply.

It imposes self questioning and traces your ability to lie. It poses a serious threat so as to evaluate yourself. It results in a self appraisal which has no up side, but only a down hill in the direction of descent to find a low point in your own self.

Evaluation: now you are a certified “present hedonistic narcissist”, who cares at least to lie !

Your actions as it may sound, looks to please others as to keep their lives unaffected but it questions your very stance on ethical transparency and makes cheating a way of life. It further questions the fact, that trust builds a relationship whereas self aligning lies grow into a pile of hidden animosity. It would surface once the mirage of your happiness is disturbed, and that is done just by coming close to the truth.

The conscious lie which you maintain to hold a clean image would have subconscious impact on your mind. The constant reaffirmations of the same thought would make it as clean as truth. The inhibition which you created would live a life of its own and dictate terms to you. As you know from history, nobody likes a “dictator”, he or she is going to be dethroned with immediate effect once the suppressed thoughts burst out in the open and makes its true color, the color of your world.

A lie would adulterate an ordinary corrupt mind into a mind which makes consistent unethical decisions. It is like a drug dealer who started to sell drugs in order to fulfill his narcotic needs. It doesn't know when to stop, when to deal and when to shut up!

A disturbed mind with constant fear of revealing a lie would suck your life into a swirl of negative emotions and thus making the mind fit only for misuse. The misuse could be damaging. The damage is not only for your love, but for an entire conscious human being – YOU, who chose the path of lies when there was a dispute to resolve within oneself.

Lies have become a lifestyle, not speaking the truth alone doesn't qualify as a lie, the process of manipulating the truth to fit a waist of untruth also qualifies as one.

Yet people enjoy a lie, relish a lie and live with a lie. Some people even crave for a lie. But at the end of the day, all that remains is a bowl of emptiness. After one point in time, the mind is trained in a way to respond involuntarily to a lie with another lie. And when that happens, “The Joker” in you has succeeded and leads to a path of untraceable lies.

Soon these lies start evolving into a big genuine lie, which would rather glitter as a visible early morning Venus which started out late that evening!

Smartha to Spartan … A self tribute

All that is Black and White in this world only exist, the rest are an imitation or closeness to either one of these, having said that at this point of time where the world is in conflict within, I try to explore my inhibitions, short comings and upside to a life which is in me and has consistently, lost motivation due to accruing knowledge in a ever degrading world.

Once out of various thoughts and discussion, a major truth came to the forefront. “Disorder Drives the World”. We live in a world where the “entropy” is always positive, the randomness is ever increasing which creates a drive/stir to live.

As a child, I used to ask a lot of questions. Not that I have stopped asking questions now. The questions of a child are genuine and are often met with inaccurate answers. This pushes them into a life long misery of buying the “myth” of their parents/elders/teachers.

You can raise a child as a Hindu, Muslim, Christian, or for that matter any religion, but has anyone considered raising their children as “Rationalists” ?

It is a far more daunting task to answer your child's questions in a rational, truthful way. May be you could reason it out, as you were protecting your child from the external world and do not want him to lose his ignorance. ( I actually meant to to write innocence! ) I always got weirdest of lies from my elders, but being the self I'm, I did buy those lies until something drastic happened to disprove that.

There is an impending thought and necessity for a Human to be commanded by someone but it violates the very notion of freedom. The expression “Humans make mistakes, to learn” is rhetorical and redundant.

There are a few emotions which are built into each living organism. There are a few emotions which are learned because of the nature's cause. These consequent emotions are built into the next generations and passed on. So the initial learning is preprogrammed by nature's oblivious uncertainty. Had that not happened, inventions and conspiracies would never have surfaced. But when there is a chance to weed out one's negativity and selfish self, thy can create a world which is free from conflict!

My questioning nature was the reason to explore, for that matter, all our ancestors did the same. But they settled for solutions which were accepted in various isolated clans in a barbarian society and ritualistically passed it over generations as what some might call Wisdom, but if I were to use a derogatory word I would call it Religion.

Born in an era of technology, we have the right to question almost everything. But only a few are raising question marks whereas the rest are just “Remarking” !

With the advent of Internet and self teaching expertise, human behavior is changing faster than you think. People are driven to do things which never ever were perceivable by their predecessors. Generations are elapsing in micro and nano figments thus creating more competition for survival in a disorder driven world.

The availability of information in excess of need has created a pressure in people to know beyond what they are expected. Often a pressure spot creates a void elsewhere. But if you are lucky it all happens in one same place and lets then call it the Human Brain!

True that life is shorter than you think, but the emotions are even short lived. A minuscule problem stares you in the eye and calls it a day. But of all the thought you put in, the solution is far from achieved. Life poses so many questions, while you are busy questioning life. These seem to never appear in front of your eyes, as you have built a thick wall of impermeable thoughts, which seem to supersede all goals you set out to achieve.

The problem however big it may be has a perceivable solution. But the answer isn't served in the same place. You might have to walk places, move mountains and even dive into a deep sea of your own imagination, but when it is done, thy peace is restored in your mind. An open mind, a peaceful mind can conquer a world, whereas a prejudiced, preset brain would cease to function as an open one.

If I were to explain the word “Smartha”, I would say universal acceptance. The word spartan without doubt would be meaning “to live with what you have or by all means within oneself”.

How conflicting is that?

This journey is embarked on every individual, but it depends on whether he takes the ride or just sulks around sitting in his own spot. I wouldn't recommend the ride, nor I would say stay in the spot. It is for every individual to decide what he needs, what he rejects and that truly makes him what he really is!

How would one compare the “emotional congruence” of an “Smartha” and a “Spartan” ?

Or should I rephrase it as, How emotionally are “Smartha” and “Spartan” congruent?

They are radically different thoughts . But aren't they within oneself. Is it not, they express themselves in parts and people are blended into what they really are not and what they are not expected to be. Every personality in this world is chiseled by various factors and only some show. These idiosyncrasies and detail make what an individual is, and truly reflects his needs and capacities.

One sets stone in life as a “Smartha”, accepting whatever there is , but if he ends up to live within his means, that would qualify in my thought as a progressive intellectual evolution to reach the pinnacle, if at all there was one. But living within means can also create a delusion. You could consider expanding what your said “means” may be and set it to luxury. But the goal would be to survive in bare minimum and strive only for intellectual appetite and build a body for that !

Seldom people think like me, they would rather brand me something else. But each person has his own right to be stupid and this is my way of being it!

Waiting for the Light to Fade!

What remains after a fade, a place of homogeneity, either bright or dark,
When you search for silence, it could be highly volatile, you would never know what to settle for!

Deconstructed silence is what we all achieve, however far you reach from a destination. The ease of a thought would take you there, if it were a favorite place the path, the journey, the obstacles, the neighborhood, everything adds glamour to an existent ambience of good will !

It is not always you would like to see light at the end of a tunnel, seeing darkness by virtue of fading is as poetic as looking up for a dawn.

Dusk and twilight grow into the innocence of a night, which has more hope and space then a morning which you woke up to, because you were busy asleep when it really happened!

So rather wait for the light to fade, you might never know!

A Chance to Love!!

Every man born in this world is a result of love. Who am I kidding??

A person devoid of giving love is common in this fast paced society, where individual needs have grown to realise their greater dreams than giving love. Needless to say these individualistic needs, no matter how trivial, have gained such momentous importance, they act as a big cloud of ignorance and block the sight of all essential ingredients of a good life.

Life is a Multi-Player game. Imaginge your Father fouled, you would have not been born, so one has to take something for the team and in this case not only settling within the bed.

Every thought process is a consequence of various sensory inputs the brain gets. A sequence of inputs, trigger a sequence of reactions. We haven't conquered the art of giving a perfect sequential input, which can result in desirable end results, but accept the fact the input is random, retarted and degenerate. But given this, we perform remarkably well and manage to sort, prioritize inputs and manifest stupid thoughts which results in various flowering decisions which go miserably wrong.

So the thought of love is one such cultivated emotion, which in many relevant philosphies lost relevance due to its inate dilution of purity with advent, pschyo-parallel emotions terming the “love” word synonymosuly with various “hate” words.

The very thought of love has made people fear it, as the consequent action of love would be suffering due to seperation. But without coming to mad conclusions on baseless but true happenings, once should a man take a chance to love!

Not a Child's World Anymore!

Every kid in the world is bribed. Be it to eat food or to do home work. Parents unknowingly create this habit in their children which becomes a social threat when these kids grow up, call it Corruption!

The concept of "Carrot and Stick" holds little relevance, once these kids are being rewarded all the time with Carrot rather than the stick. Cajoling kids with lies and petty promises makes them even more vulnerable to social stigma and creates doubts in their young minds about the rightfulness of elders.

I personally feel, Kids are fearless and inquisitive to learn all the things in the world. It is the responsibility of the people around them to bring up these kids with virtues that would give depth and truth to their personality.

Being born in the technology era, today's children are far more equipped and have the right to access information. So before these kids source it from TV and Internet, elders around can package them in a more fructiferous way!! Given the chance, at least let the "yield be fertile" !!
